This guide provides instructions on using the Route Planning Modal within the Sustainian Jira Plugin to determine commute distances and transportation modes for project participants. This feature ensures accurate travel distance calculations using Google Maps API without storing or logging any personal address data.

Accessing the Route Planning Modal

1. Open People Consumption Settings: Navigate to the 'People Consumption' section within your project on the Sustainian Jira Plugin.

2. Initiate Route Calculation: Click on the commute configuration for a project participant and clock on the Route button to open the Route Planning Modal.

Using the Route Planning Modal

1. Enter Home Address:

   • Input Address: Type the participant’s home address in the 'Home Address' field. As you type, autocomplete suggestions will help you quickly find the correct address.

2. Select Commute Route:

   • Available Routes: Once the address is input, the modal will display possible routes and their respective distances calculated by car and train. Routes that involve transfers will be distinctly marked.

   • Choose Transportation Mode: Select the most appropriate route based on the transportation mode—such as car or train—including routes with transfers if necessary.

3. Saving the Route Information

   • Confirm Selection: After selecting the desired route and transportation mode, ensure all information is correct.

   • Save Changes: Click the Save button to confirm the settings. This will update the project participant's commute details in the system.
