People consumption - Setting Commute and Home Office Consumption in the Sustainian Plugin
Access to this feature requires Project Admin privileges.
This guide provides detailed instructions on how to configure commute details and home office energy consumption for project participants using the Sustainian Jira Plugin. This feature allows Project Administrators to input and manage the distance traveled by each project member, their mode of transportation, and their home office energy usage.
Accessing the People Consumption Feature
Open the Project Settings: Open your project in Jira. This feature can also be accessed by clicking on the
...icon in the Project-related Settings available on the Carbon Footprint Dashboard.
Select People Consumption: Click on the left side menu
People Consumptionmenu item.
Configuring Commute Details
Select a User: From the list of project users, click on the user you wish to configure.
Enter Commute Details:
Distance: Manually enter the distance the user commutes from home to the office or use the
Routebutton to calculate it via integrated Google Maps route planning. You can use this in the Route Planning Modal.Transport Type: Choose the mode of transportation used by the user (e.g., Car, Train, Bike).
Car Size and Fuel Type (if applicable): If the user commutes by car, select the car size and the type of fuel it uses.
Home Office Energy Consumption: Enter the amount of energy consumed by the user when working from home. This should be measured in kWh per day. How to calculate your home office consumption?
Save the data: After entering all the necessary information, click the
Savebutton to store the details.
Review and Confirm: Once saved, the user's name in the list will display the updated commute and home office consumption data. This ensures transparency and ease of verification.
Additional Features
Completion Reminder: A yellow warning message will appear at the top of the Carbon Footprint Dashboard until commute and home office consumption data are provided for all project participants.
Data Synchronization: Commute and home office consumption data are synchronized across projects, ensuring consistent and accurate calculation.
Multiple Modes of Commutation: May select 'Mixed' for their transport type if their commute involves switching between multiple transportation modes.

Accuracy of Data: Ensure that the distances and consumption data are as accurate as possible to maintain the integrity of project reporting.
Regular Updates: Update these settings regularly to reflect any changes in the user’s commute patterns or home office setup.

Data Not Saving: Check if you have the necessary permissions to make changes. If the problem persists, ensure your internet connection is stable.
Incorrect Route Calculations: If the route planner provides incorrect distances, try manually entering the distance or check the address entered for accuracy.
