People settings - Managing People in the Sustainian Jira Plugin
Access to this feature requires Project Admin privileges.
The People settings feature in the Sustainian Jira Plugin provides Project Admins with the capability to distribute users between two groups:
Contributors and
Observers.
The feature offers a user-friendly interface with drag-and-drop capabilities, as well as dedicated function buttons, allowing efficient management of people within your project.
Accessing the People Management Feature
Navigate to the People Settings: Open your project in Jira. This feature can also be accessed by clicking on the ... icon in the Project-related Settings available on the Carbon Footprint Dashboard.
Default Group Assignments
Initial Setup: By default, all users with permissions on the project are initially placed in the Contributors group when they are first added to the project.
New Users: Any new user added to the project will automatically be placed in the Contributors group.
Interface Overview
Two Column Layout: The interface displays two columns: Contributors and Observers. This layout allows for easy viewing and management of user groups.
User Listings: Each column lists the users assigned to that group. Users can be selected for reassignment by clicking on their name.
Managing People
Drag-and-Drop: To move a user from one group to another, click and hold on the user's name in the list and drag it across to the other column. Release the mouse to drop the user into the desired group.
Function Buttons: Alternatively, select a user by clicking on their name, then use the dedicated buttons
«»(labeled as 'Move to Contributors' and 'Move to Observers') to transfer them between groups.

Review User Groups Regularly: Regularly check and update the user groups to ensure they align with current project needs and user involvement.
